Have you ever wondered what is so beneficial about Himalayan Salt Lamps?

To start, these pink salt lamps neutralizes electromagnetic radiation from electronic devices.
To understand we need to first address positive and negative ions. These ions directly affect us throughout the day.
An excess of positively charged ions in your environment is believed to contribute to tiredness and a lack of energy, tension, anxiety and irritability. Positive ions in the air have even been investigated as a contributing factor for asthma and depression.
Positive Ions have a negative affect on your health and can cause respiratory problems such as asthma, poor immune system. These ions are so small they can be absorbed within the air that you breathe.
Positively Charged Ions
  • Fatigue
  • Lack of energy
  • Tension
  • Irritability
  • Asthma
  • Depression
  • Lowered immunity
Negatively Charged Ions
  • Positive mood
  • Eases stress and anxiety
  • Purify's the air
  • Helps with asthmatic symptoms
  • Promotes quality sleep and restfulness
Reported Salt Lamp Benefits
  • Reduces stress
  • Reduces allergies
  • Less colds and flu (due to less airborne viruses)
  • Purifies the air
  • Helps keep healthy vibration and energy
  • Reduced symptoms from disorders like rheumatism and arthritis.
  • Supports the Immune system
  • Neutralizes electromagnetic radiation from electronic devices
In the reported health benefits of Salt Lamps column, I just wanted to address that there is not a lot of scientific research on this, however it is proven that salt lamps are natural negative ionizers. These claims may be contributed from the Salts ability to neutralizes electromagnetic radiation from electronic devices.
Electronic devices are constantly around us throughout the day and the night. These devices are exerting positive ions into our environment. As seen above positive ions can have a massive impact on our health. there are many ways to keep a steady flow of negative ions to rid yourself of this tiresome cycle.

My kitty Zorro loves the warmth of the Salt Lamps. Just make sure your animals are not interested in licking the salt!
Interesting info I found
Salt attracts water molecules from the surrounding air. A large block of rock salt, like a Himalayan crystal salt lamp, is especially attractive to water vapor and its attached pollutants.
As Himalayan salt lamps slowly becomes saturated with water vapor they attract from the air around them, the heat from the lamp inside dries them, for as long as the light is on.
This heat also re-releases water vapor back into the air. Importantly, any airborne contaminants attracted to the salt lamp remain trapped there and will not become airborne again.

To be completely honest you can never have too many salt lamps. keep them in rooms that you are the most active so they can purify the air that you breathe. We have about 6 at our place and always are on the look out for more. One salt lamp in the home will not purify the whole house, but it will help.
Directions on how to clean and how long to keep salt lamps on
According to this website that I have been addressing, you want to leave your salt lamps on for up to 2 weeks. After the two week mark or sooner let the lamp cool for at least 1 hour. As far as cleaning goes, you want to get a rag and dampen it with just a little amount of water and wipe the surface of the lamp. If you think about it, all the positive ions and pollutants in the air are on the surface.

I know when I first received my lamp I wanted to lick it because it was funny and it's Himalayan Salt so its healthy right? After reading this I wont be doing that anymore hahha!!!
