A little bit about what I doHello Lovelies, Just wanted to blog a little info about myself and why I created True Mineral Earth. Many of you have asked me what I do for a living. I'm a painter by day and I work at an animal shelter at night. My passion is art and I see art in everything! My night job allows me to fund my art and pay the bills. You can find my artwork on Instagram and on Etsy. First off, if you don't know already, I'm Sarah Ashley, the founder of True Mineral Earth. I created this space to discover alternative ways to health care and products that are affordable. I strongly believe that your health is so important and making healthy choices to your everyday products is essential and should be easy! I want to use my blog as a platform to help people learn what to look for when buying products, the best deals and inexpensive alternatives, and of course DIY's! One of my main goals is to help people increase Eco products in the home without breaking their bank. Plus making and creating your own products is fun! I love to create so it just makes sense that I would make my own products (: Not only do I love creating DIY products, I absolutely love to create art! I'm focusing on watercolors at the moment and I'm just amazed how therapeutic it is. You don't even need to know how to paint for these benefits. Ultimately, you can just play with water and the paint creating washes of color that gives a soothing effect. Who needs therapy when you have watercolors to use for mental clarity? I went to school for Art and graduated from California State University of Channel Island where I received my B.A. in Studio Art with an emphasis in Painting. I worked full time while I was attending college part time. Working for the Animal Shelter paid my way through school and still is such an amazing job. Working at an Animal Shelter is hard work. It can be super fun but it can also be sad. You learn about so many different animals. We welcome any animal that comes through our doors, whether it is a domestic animal, livestock, or an injured/orphaned wildlife animal. Many people do not realize what a vital role shelters play. I love informing others about all of the many ways that shelters can help! For wildlife we call our local wildlife rehabbers and they pick them up from our shelter and rehab them before sending them back out into the wild. They are non profits but they are in desperate need of donations. We are so thankful for all the wildlife rehabbers that take in our animals when they are brought in. I've had and continue to have so many amazing experiences working at the shelter. In the summer I am usually part of the Mobile Pet Adoptions with my shelter. We call these MPA's. We go to parks, zoos, and fundraisers in the masses adopting out animals along side of other animal organizations and rescues. There are usually about 1000 animals at these events. If you love working with animals I would recommend you to check it out at your nearest shelter and volunteer! Below are just some of the fun moments I wanted to share! If you have any animal questions feel free to message me or leave a comment below (=
